Something New About SmartBoard

A large thing that should be taken into consideration is the teacher’s enthusiasm dealing with SmartBoard. If the teachers are excited about the new technologies, then they will be more likely to want to use them and figure out how to use them. If the teacher wants to use the SmartBoard they will, if they do not or are overwhelmed by the procedures to use the SmartBoard then they won’t use it. There for, if the teachers aren’t excited about it, then neither will the students.

My view on SmartBoard

It worth the investment in classes that will uses this, such as math and science classes that have a use from them. I don't see a real use in a history class, which a projector can't do. I firmly believe that along with buying the Smartboards the state needs to give training and workshops for the Smartboards. If educators could be educated on the running, functions and possibilities of the SmartBoards then the investment will be more of a sound investment. But, I still do not believe it's a good idea or smart investment for the state to have one in every classroom. This will prove to be a waste of money and if there are no workshops, then it will be a waste of time and even more money. The state should have already started training and workshops if Smartboards have been installed in classrooms. I'm frustrated as a tax payer that they have not.
Another concern is having to buy programs to run for your classroom. A disection program will cost $300 a year, which is outragous.

Teachers and Smartboards

The Standard most exhibited for Teachers in the use of a Smartboard is Standard 3 a. Model Digital-Age Work and Learning, in which Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society. Teachers demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations. But once again, there needs to be workshops and training to use these technologies. AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, otherwise the technology becomes useless.

4/13 Interactive whiteboard

The article we read in class today discussed how Interactive Smart Boards assist in the learning process. One aspect that I found intresting is the use for Special needs students. I think this will really help all kinds of special needs students in participating in the learning process.

My WebQuest!

My WebQuest, Creatures of Hispanic FolkLore!

Students and WebQuest

Students working on WebQuest learn more than just one standard by these assignments. I think the best 2 are Standard 1. Creativity and Innovation, create original works as a means of personal or group expression. and Standard 3. Research and Information Fluency locate, organize, analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and ethically use information from a variety of sources and media.

Which is standard 2 Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments.

Day 20 WebQuest

I Chose the WebQuest Creatures of Hispanic Folklore. The WebQuest should have diffrent colors and needs pictures. Links need to be changed and there should really be more of a variety of creatures to pick from to research. I will try to add at least 3 more creatures.
